Understanding AgExpert Analyst file extensions

AgExpert Analyst uses many different types of file extensions. Understanding what each file extension is used for will help you to determine what a specific file will do for you.

Following is a current list of file extensions used by AgExpert Analyst:

  • abk – A backup file that was created with AgExpert Analyst version 2012-01 to 2012-05.
  • aea – A snapshot that was created with AgExpert Analyst version 2012-05 and earlier.
  • aga – An AgExpert Analyst data file in version 2012-05 or earlier.
  • agacc – An accountant’s copy file created in AgExpert Analyst 2013-01 or later.
  • agaccbackup – A backup of an accountant’s copy file created by AgExpert Analyst 2013-01 or later.
  • agaccsnapshot – A snapshot of an accountant’s copy file created by AgExpert Analyst 2013-01 or later.
  • agacctransfer – A transfer file created by a customer of their AgExpert Analyst data file in version 2013-01 or later. It’s imported by an accountant into an accountant’s copy data file.
  • agex – An AgExpert Analyst data file in version 2013-01 or later.
  • agexbackup – A backup file created by AgExpert Analyst version 2013-01 or later.
  • agexsnapshot – A snapshot that was created with AgExpert Analyst version 2013-01 or later.
  • agextransfer – A transfer file created by an accountant of their AgExpert Analyst accountant’s copy in version 2013-01 or later. It’s imported by a customer and merged into the customer’s data file.
  • cwe – A file created by a customer that can be imported into Caseware.
  • fme – A file created by a customer that can be imported into Field Manager Pro.
  • zip – A backup file that was created with AgExpert Analyst version 2011-06 or earlier.
