Importing Client’s Copy

Your client will send you a file with the extension .agacctransfer.

In AgExpert Analyst 2013, you can import this file into your accountant’s version of AgExpert Analyst.

To begin the import process:

  1. Select Import Client’s Copy from the Accountant menu. A new window will open.
  2. Locate and select the saved transfer file, and click Open.
  3. Make sure you’re extracting the information to the correct location. If it’s incorrect, click the secondBrowse button, find the correct location and click OK.
  4. Click Import to extract the information.
  5. Once the file has been imported, click Open in the File menu. The dividing date will display on the title bar of the program. You can make entries before the dividing date and view transactions after the dividing date.Note: You won't be able to make any payroll entries.
  6. You can also include notes for your customer, along with adjusting journal entries, by selectingNotes for Client from the Accountant menu.
  7. The Notes for Client dialogue box will appear. Enter your notes and click OK.

Exporting Client Information

When your work is complete, you’ll need to export the information so that your customer can apply it to his or her current data file.

  1. Select Export Client’s Copy from the Accountant menu. A new window will open.
  2. Locate and select the file you want to export, and click Open.
  3. Make sure you’re exporting to the correct location. If it’s incorrect, click the second Browse button, find the correct location and click OK.  
  4. Click Export.
  5. A file will appear in the export location with the file extension .agextransfer. Send this file to your customer. Once they receive this file, they can import it into their system.
