Migrating from Field Manager PRO

If you have a Premium subscription and Field Manager PRO data, you can migrate into AgExpert Field and continue using your data set without losing any of your historical information.  If you do not currently have Premium, login to your account and click on the Upgrade to Premium button.

Your first opportunity to migrate comes the first time you login to AgExpert Field.  You will be given the choice to either go to Field or go to Accounting.  If you click Start with Field, A pop up will appear that asks if you want to start fresh or migrate your data.

Alternatively, if you have a business already setup in AgExpert Accounting, you can go there and go to your Business Information.  There will be a tab for Field Manager PRO import where you can click Download migration tool.

Allow the migration tool to download and install it once it is completed.  Before clicking the Finish button, make sure to mark where it says to Launch AgExpert Field Migration Tool.

The migration tool will open immediately at this point.  Select your language and click OK.

Once the tool fully opens, begin by clicking Next.

You will need to sign into the migration tool using your Agexpert.ca email address and password.  Click Sign in and enter your credentials.

After signing in, the tool will tell you if you are ready for migration or not.  If you are not ready for migration, the tool will tell you why (i.e. you are not currently a Premium subscriber).  Click Next to move to the next step.

Click Browse and select the Field Manager PRO data file you would like to migrate.  Click Next to continue.

You will be taken to your Field Manager PRO seed input list.  AgExpert Field manages a list of seeds by variety.  You will need to map the seed you have used in Field Manager PRO to a seed variety on the AgExpert Field list.  The tool will automatically try to match as best as it can, but you may need to map some manually.

To map a seed variety, click a line with missing information.  The description will carry into the search on the right, where you can then look and attempt to find the variety to map to.  You can change your search criteria as needed.  When you find the right variety, double click it.

If you are unable to find the variety you used, then scroll to the bottom of the search on the right and select Unknown/Missing Variety.

This will allow you to move forward with your migration.  You can report these varieties as missing later after the migration process has been completed.

Click Next to continue.  The next screen is your crop protection products.  You will need to map your existing crop protection products to a corresponding product in our list.

If you find something missing, you can select Unknown, and report it as missing after the migration is completed.

Click Next.  You will now map your pest list.

This is the last section you need to map.  If you click Next, you will be told that you are ready to get started.  Click Next again.

The migration tool will now upload a copy of your data file to our servers.  The tool will let you know that the migration process has started.

The migration process takes some time, depending on the size of your Field Manager PRO data.  Smaller datasets might only take 5 or 10 minutes, but data that has 10 or 15 years of data might take several hours to finish.

When the migration process is complete, you will receive an email from us.  Once you get this email, you can log back into your account, and your data will be ready for you to use.
