AgExpert Analyst Tip of the of Month - news and helpful advice to help you get the most from your AgExpert Analyst Software.
The AgriStability deadline will be here before you know it. But don’t worry. This month’s tip will show you how to make the AgriStability process easier and less stressful.
The Time is Now.
The best piece of advice we can give you: DON’T WAIT. If you’re going to track your AgriStability transactions, it’s way better to work on them throughout the year. Don’t wait until a week before your deadline to start. Most problems are easy to catch and fix if you find them as you go.
Make friends with the Detailed Inventory Manager
Use the Detailed Inventory Manager as your hub for all that is AgriStability. If you have a grading or classification problem, you can fix it through this screen. Click on Inventory, and select Detailed Inventory Manager. You’ll see a list of all of your inventory accounts. You can check out all of your transactions by selecting an inventory account, and clicking on Edit Inventory Details.
While you can’t change any financial or quantity information, you can fix any transaction type and grade issues from this screen. If you entered your harvest as opening inventory, or used grade N/A instead of CWRS #1, you can quickly flip the switch here so that the train is travelling in the right direction.
What if you’re missing details?
If you have a situation where you’re missing information on your supplementary, the detailed inventory manager will help you find it. You’ll see inventory accounts that have the symbol on the left. This means that there’s important information missing, which you need to take care of immediately. Click on Edit Inventory Details, and look at your transactions. You’ll find either a Transaction Type or Grade is missing. Once this information is in the system, it will appear on the supplementary form.
Don’t forget to harvest
Seems pretty straight forward – you can’t sell what you didn’t grow. The same idea exists in AgExpert Analyst. Once you complete your harvest for the growing season, don’t forget to enter it in your Inventory Adjustment screen. You’ll end up with a pile of errors (and a negative bank account!) if you do.
One plus one equals two
Don’t focus too much on your ending inventory number on the supplementary. Instead, look at each individual column to make sure the number looks correct. As you find your issues, you can generally find your fix (or at least the cause of the issue) in the Detailed Inventory Manager. If your opening balance is correct, and all the numbers in each box are correct, then your ending inventory will be correct.
