Installing Windows on your Mac using Parallels Desktop

AgExpert Analyst and Field Manager Pro are rated for Windows use only. To use the software on a Mac, you must install a Windows emulator such as Parallels Desktop.

CAUTION: FCC Management Software can’t troubleshoot any issues that you might encounter with your Parallels installation. We can support the AgExpert Analyst and Field Manager Pro software, but any issues that arise due to Parallels are beyond the scope of your Customer Care Plan.

Before you install Parallels, make sure that you have a current, valid Windows license. If you don’t have an installation DVD from Microsoft, you can purchase a license by visiting the Microsoft Store.

After you’ve installed Parallels Desktop, you must create a new virtual machine. Click File>New. Then click Install Windows or other OS from DVD or image file.

You can install Windows using a DVD or image disk, or a bootable USB drive. The wizard will automatically detect whatever you use. However, you can also select your Windows source manually.

Once you’ve selected your source, enter your Windows product key provided to you by Microsoft.

Next, select whether to use Windows like a Mac or like a PC. Our preference is to use Windows like a PC.  If you choose to use Windows like a Mac, it’ll be more difficult to troubleshoot any software issues that arise.

Finally, specify a name and location for your virtual machine. You can change any settings you want in this option. Once you’re done, click Continue. When the installation is complete, you’ll be able to use Windows on your Mac machine.

You can find more specific instructions in the Parallels Desktop knowledge base (including screenshots ).
