Entering inventory account information
To enter inventory account information:
- Select Chart of Accounts from the Setup menu. The Chart of Accounts dialogue box opens.
- Click Add. The Add Account dialogue box opens.
- Enter a measurement unit for the account (dozen, head, tonne, etc.) in the Unit label field, or select one from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the Inventory adjustment account number or click (…) to select one. It’s used to track changes in a specific inventory account.
- The inventory adjustment account updates every time you post a transaction to the inventory account. You can use one inventory adjustment account for all inventory accounts or use a different inventory adjustment account for each inventory account.
- If you’re participating in the AgriStability program, select one of the options from the AgriStability commodity type drop-down menu.
- Select the Active check box to use the account when entering transactions.
- Click Save. The Chart of Accounts dialogue box opens, displaying the new account in the list of accounts.
