Looking for something specific in the page and not quite sure where to find it? You can always press CTRL + F on your keyboard and type a keyword. Or you can do a search (in the top right corner).
Backing up data to CD or DVD
Back up your data file to any CD or DVD media type. To open this dialogue box, click Back up your data file to a CD or DVD in the Back Up dialogue box and click OK.
- Volume label – Enter the volume label, which displays when you view the CD or DVD in Windows Explorer.
- Expand – Click this button to access advanced burning options. Normally, you’ll only have to change these options if you encounter a problem during the burning process.
- Erase Disc – Click this button to erase a rewritable CD or DVD. The Erase Rewritable CD or DVDdialogue box appears. If you proceed with this process, the data on your rewritable CD or DVD is completely erased and you can’t retrieve it. If this is your intent, select one of the following options and click Erase:
- Quick erase – A quick erase removes the table of contents from the disc but doesn’t erase any other information. The information on the disc becomes inaccessible and the disc appears blank if you view it in another program.
- Full erase – A full erase deletes all information from the disc. The process takes longer but is more secure.
- Burn – Click this button to begin burning your backup data file to a CD or DVD.
