Data Protection > Rebuild > Using the Rebuild tool
Looking for something specific in the page and not quite sure where to find it? You can always press CTRL + F on your keyboard and type a keyword. Or you can do a search (in the top right corner).
Using the Rebuild tool
Use this selection to repair an unusable data file. The rebuild utility examines the integrity of the data file, checks the mandatory accounts integration and enterprise percentage splits, and compresses the data file to remove any wasted space.
All account balances are reviewed and invalid entries are deleted from the data file (invalid entries can be copied to the Windows clipboard for review). If the deleted invalid entries are receivable or payable charges, then any payments orphaned by the deletion of these entries will also be deleted.
Note: There are no guarantees that the damaged data file can be fully recovered. Always make a backup of your data file before proceeding with the rebuild.
To rebuild a data file:
- Select Rebuild from the File menu. The Rebuild dialogue box opens.
- Click Browse and select the data file to be rebuilt. Click Open.
- Click OK. A rebuild is performed on the data file.
