Importing Transactions from Plaid

To import transactions from Plaid, you must first make sure your bank account is connected.

New transactions will be updated in Banking > Bank accounts at least once a day.  If there are any transactions that have been downloaded, the number of available items will be shown on the main screen.

Click the message to open the Pending transactions page.  Each transaction will need to be verified and imported, matched, or ignored individually.  Click an item to begin the import process.

The item will open in the transaction screen.  You can edit any information, including the supplier, date, reference, and amount.  You will need to code any accounts that are needed to balance your transaction.

If Accounting can match the item to an existing transaction, it will display the information on screen.  It is important to verify if the system is matching the item to the correct bank transaction to avoid reconciliation errors.

If the match was incorrect and you want to match it to a different transaction, click Find a transaction.

This opens a search screen that allows you to select a different transaction to match to.

If the match was incorrect and you want to create a new transaction, click Create new transaction.

This clears the matched information, and creates a new transaction based on the import information.

Once you have entered all the information, or verified the matched transaction, you can click either Save and next to import the next item, or Save and close to close the transaction screen.

The transaction will be removed from the original list so that you do not import the same item twice.

If you wish to ignore a transaction in the Pending transactions list, click the three dots at the end of the line and click Move to Ignored Transactions.

You can access and restore ignored transactions by going to the Ignored Transactions tab.

Click Close when you are finished.
