Adding a subaccount to the chart of accounts
You need to create a primary account before you can add a subaccount.
To add a primary account to the chart of accounts:
- Select Chart of Accounts from the Setup menu. The Chart of Accounts dialogue box appears.
- Select the appropriate account category tab (Asset, Liability, Equity, Income or Expense) to display all accounts in that account number range.
- Click Add. The Add Account dialogue box appears.
- Choose Primary from the Account class drop-down menu and click Create Account.
- Enter the account description and click Save.
- Repeat steps 3 to 5, choosing Subaccount in Step 4, to add subaccounts to your primary account.
