Importing bank statements
Before importing your bank statement, you need to download the transaction file from your online banking account. Our AgExpert Accounting software accepts Quicken (.QFX) and Quickbooks (.QBO) files. Most banking institutions offer these two options. Files to import cannot exceed 100 KB.
The file can be found in your Downloads folder but can be moved to your desktop or any other area you prefer.
In AgExpert Accounting, go to:
- Banking > Bank Accounts, then click Upload Statement at the end of the row.
1. Select your bank account and upload the file.

In the column that opens to the right of the screen, select the bank account you would like to import transactions for and click on Browse to import the file previously saved in your file folders. Click Open to import the file into the program.

AgExpert will automatically detect, and match transactions already entered in your books. You’ll see:
- Exact matches (date and amount) highlighted in blue.
- Partial matches (amount only) flagged for manual review.
- Unmatched transactions ready for import via the transaction entry screen. ·

Any transactions that are not related to business activities should be moved to the Deleted transactions tab. You can do this by:
- Selecting individual transactions using the the checkbox beside each row or the three-dot menu at the end of the row.

Some information will auto-populate into the transaction entry page. Fill in missing information accordingly and click Save to record the transaction.
You can also choose Close and resume later if you have a lot of transactions to process.
Once all transactions on the statement have been recorded, you can mark the import as Done.
