Technical enhancements to the GIS import/export tool

As part of the Field Manager PRO 360 update, we’ve changed the GIS import tool to ensure compatibility with the John Deere Green Star system.

You now have the ability to import 3D shapefiles.

To import 3D shapefiles:

1. Select Fields in the Setup menu.
2. Select the field and click .
3. Click  Import. The Data import wizard dialogue box opens. It lets you import geospatial data from Shapefiles (.shp files). Click Next.
4. Select Shapefiles and click Open. Click Next.
5. Click  and select the Shapefiles directory (.shp files). Click Next.
6. Select the variable to import. Click Next.
7. Select the feature to import. Click Next.
8. Click Import.

Or

1. Select Operation, Harvest or Observation from the Records menu.
2. Click the GIS tab.
3. Click Import. The wizard lets you import geospatial data in various formats including the John Deere Green Star system and Shapefiles (.shp files). Click Next.
4. Click  and select the Shapefiles directory (.shp files). Click Next.
5. Select the variable to import. Click Next.
6. Select the feature to import. Click Next.
7. Click Next.
8. Click Import.
