Fixing a Code 4 Error
A code 4 error indicates that your chart of accounts isn’t in logical order. This update provides a way for you to see exactly what’s causing the code 4 error to appear.
This can be caused in two different ways:
- A missing header account. The location of the matching total account will be displayed.
- To fix this issue, go to Setup>Chart of Accounts and re-create the missing header account in the section referenced by the error.
- A missing total account. You’ll be instructed to add the total account immediately above an existing header account.
- To fix this issue, go to Setup>Chart of Accounts and re-create the missing total account as specified by the error.
