Adding up the numbers with AgExpert Analyst 2016-02

There’s a number of improvements to the release of the latest version of AgExpert Analyst 2016-02, and they add up to better things for you. We don’t have the space to include all the upgrades, but here’s a quick look at some highlights in our latest version:

AgExpert Analyst 2016-03

• Minor technical improvements were added

Auto-update

• You should have received a notification from within your software when this update became available. You need an Internet connection to use this feature.

General enhancements

• A new status bar has been added to the AgExpert Analyst screen. The status bar can be used to get help on a feature in the software, to access fiscal year and will display the version of the software that you are currently running.

Setup

• Import button added to the Contacts and Employee setup screen

Transaction

• The Reference number field has been updated in the Transaction entry, General journal, Inventory adjustment screens to facilitate the use of this field.

Payroll

• Account number setup was moved to Setup option of the Payroll menu.
• All payroll tables have been updated to reflect the payroll calculations from Jan 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016. Please refer to CRA for any changes to the payroll in your province.

Reports

• When exporting reports to PDF or Excel, any drill down links often remained active in the exported report.  This would generate errors if you were to click on those active links.

Management

• A Notes column was added to the Budget grid report.

Enhancements

• Now you’ll receive a reminder to do a backup of your datafile when you close out of AgExpert Analyst.

Support

• Find out what’s new in your software by using the What’s New button added to the Help menu.

New AgExpert Analyst 2015-03, new enhancements for you

The latest AgExpert Analyst update is here. With this new release, you can expect many new features and enhancements:

Auto-update

• Get notified from within your software when an update is available. (You need an internet connection to use this feature.)

Online Activation

• Activate your software as soon as you’re ready. All you need is an internet connection, a serial number and the email address we have on file. Once the information is entered, just press the button to activate the system. It’s the ultimate in convenience: no need to call in, no need to wait for a disc.
• No internet connection? No problem. If you can’t use the online activation tool, or if your computer isn’t connected to the internet, call us during our normal business hours. We’ll get you activated.

Transaction

• Updated the transaction entry screen so the flow is more logical.
• Added a better way to manage Credits to AgExpert Analyst with the Create Credit and Apply Credit types.
• Replaced the column Type in the Bank reconciliation with two new column Deposits and Withdrawals.
• Added a button to the Inventory warning screen to Open Inventory Adjustment to add more inventory to complete the sale of inventory.

Payroll

• Sort employees by any column now available in the Payroll employee setup window.
• Negative payroll deductions now added.
• You’re no longer required to generate the report to record your Payroll Remittance nor to view the information contained within.
• All payroll tables have been updated to reflect the payroll calculations from July 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015. Please refer to CRA for any changes to the payroll in your province. 

Taxes

• You’re no longer required to generate the report to record your GST or PST return nor to view the information contained within.

Reports

• New filter added to the Chart of Accounts report allows you to print a specific range, or type, of accounts. 
• A notification has been added to the Income & Expense report, the T2042 report, and the T1163 report to inform you of the accounts that will not appear on the report.
• Drill down functionality has been added to the AgriStability Supplementary.

Management

• The option to auto-fill your cash flow from your budget has been restored. 
• A new field has been added to the top of the screen, allowing you to see your budget as at a certain date, or within a specific time period.

Enhancements

• Detailed steps added to Code 4 to help you fix the issue within your software.
• The date has been added to the five most recent transactions on the AgExpert Analyst Dashboard.

Year end

• Creating an accountant’s copy has been updated to allow you to choose where you would like to save the copy.

Support

• Find out what’s new in your software by using the What’s New button added to the Help menu.
• The online community is there to help you with your questions. The FCC Management Software Online Community is the place to get answers to your software questions 24-7. Clients have access to searchable discussion boards, blogs and the Knowledge Base. They can connect with other software users and with our support staff.

Have you downloaded Field Manager PRO / PRO 360 2014-01 yet? The latest version is now available and while there are many upgrades worth talking about, here are just a few to get your juices flowing:

GIS imagery

Big changes to the way GIS imagery works in Field Manager PRO 360. No need to download imagery anymore. Now you’ll define your farm size at activation, making it easier to draw your polygons.

Commodity contracts

A new Commodity Contracts Module has been added to Field Manager PRO / PRO 360. This will help you better manage your inventory to fulfill those contacts.

Updated payroll tables

Love to be in control? You’ve got it. Now you have the ability to generate the Loan and Inventory Report yourself. Or you can view it in grid. Your choice.

Ok, this isn’t part of the update, but if you haven’t downloaded AgExpert Mobile, what are you waiting for? This new app works with AgExpert Analyst and lets you take a picture of your receipts and enter the transaction details on the fly. No more lost statements. Next time you’re entering a transaction with a new contact not found in your contact list, you’ll be prompted to add that business or person. By doing it on the fly, you’ll save the hassle of going back and adding that contact later.

Searchable accounts

Find accounts faster on the chart of accounts with our new search filter. No more scrolling up or down. Now you can just type in the filter to find the desired account.

Take a memo

We’ve added a memo field to the transaction entry and payroll cheques screens. Now you’ll be able to write a memo on all your cheques.

Like most entrepreneurs you’re always looking for an advantage – something to improve margins or create more efficiency in your operation. That’s why so many of you use farm software like Field Manager PRO and 360.

Customizing how you see your GIS Farm View:

• allocate crops to a storage location during the Harvest
• display how much inventory is left in your bins at the time of the last sync
• duplicate operations on FM PRO Mobile

June is shaping up to be a big month for farmers who want the most from their production: introducing Field Manager PRO 2013 and Field Manager PRO 360 2013.

But the news doesn’t stop there. FM PRO Mobile, our new app for Apple and Android users will be ready to download as well. 

Whether you use an iPhone, iPad, or Android device, FM PRO mobile is designed to synchronize with your desktop version of Field Manager PRO 360 and Field Manager PRO. To use the synchronize functions, you’ll need the current software versions. If you have Field Manager PRO 360, you’ll also be able to access the GPS/GIS functions of the application from your mobile device. 

The latest version of Field Manager PRO and Field Manager PRO 360 has been amped up for 2013. Here are some things to look for: 

View your crop records like never before

• Now you can display your crop records in a calendar view on your Crop Records dialogue window.

Improved setup of the Field Manager PRO 360 GIS

• After defining the location of the farm, you can see the streets and roads in the defined area.
• Now you can cut out pieces of the polygon to mark landmarks such as rocks and waterways. You can also have multiple polygons on a field. 

Better zoom features

• We added new zooms – 1:150000, 1:200000 and 1:250000.
• The software will now default back to the last zoom scale that you used.

New GIS Import features

• Now you can import and export GPS waypoints (in the .gpx format) from other GIS tools such as Garmin, Trimble and Tom Tom. Waypoints are collected using a GPS receiver (points). They could be marking rocks, washouts, areas of interest in the field or other landmarks. In Field Manager PRO 360, those waypoints could be used to trace the field boundary or to mark a point for observations.

Start your software conversion

Get started by upgrading to the latest update of AgExpert Analyst 2012-04 or 2012-05. Be sure your data file is in normal mode before importing to AgExpert Analyst 2013. Why? The 2012-04 or 2012-05 upgrades were created to detect any defects that might cause failure in the new software import. You’ll get a conversion report that will list the corrections you need to fix to ensure your 2013 version works properly.

Better year-end management

Instead of creating a new data file for a specific year, the 2013 version creates a new year in the data file. In previous versions of AgExpert Analyst, you had to go through the year-end process to finalize or partially finalize the previous year just to continue on with the next fiscal year. Now, you can add a new fiscal year with two simple clicks.

Happy accountant, happy life

We’ve simplified the way you submit files to your accountant – now you can create an accountant’s copy and a copy for yourself. This way, you work on one version while your accountant can make adjustments to another. Once finished, your accountant sends back the file and you can import into yours. The adjustment and year-end process has never been easier.

Change the date of your transactions

Here’s a big improvement – transactions can now be back-dated and post-dated to any fiscal year that exists in the database. Before, you were limited to the fiscal year when it came to entering transactions. Now as long as the fiscal year has been created, you can postdate or backdate the transaction, making payroll and entries for the next year, even though you are not done working on your file, simple.
